Figure 3 Functional diagram
6.1 Take out the product. Remove the mounting plate.
6.2 Insert the two hooks of the mounting plate into the slots of the product. Then turn the alarm clockwise until it snaps into place.
6.3 Testing
Press the TEST/HUSH button. The red LED will flash quickly and continuous alarm will be made. That means the detector works properly. At the same time, the detector enters low sensitivity detection mode for about 9 minutes. 9 minutes later, it will automatically exit the silence mode and enter the normal standby condition.
6.4 Low sensitivity detection (silence mode)
6.4.1 Use a small amount of smoke to make the detector alarm. Press the TEST/HUSH button. The detector will enter the silence (low sensitivity detection) mode. The red LED will flash every 10 seconds and no audible sound will be heard, unless smoke becomes denser. That will last for about 9 minutes.
6.4.2 When the detector is in silence (low sensitivity detection) mode, press the TEST/HUSH button again and alarm sound will be made. Then the detector will exit low sensitivity detection mode, and enter normal standby condition
Note: If there is still a small amount of residual smoke in the detector after the detector enters the normal standby condition, it will still alarm.
6.5 Alarm memory
If alarm has been made, alarm memory will be stored. You can tell if alarm has been made by pressing the TEST/HUSH button or observing the LED display status. The LED (green) will flash 3 times every 43 seconds, and stops 24 hours later. The first time you press the TEST/HUSH button after alarm is made, the detector will hint by special alarm mode. When you release the button, alarm memory will be cleared.
7. Installation
7.1 Choose a suitable place to install the smoke alarm.
7.2 Hold the mounting plate against the selected installation position on the ceiling, and mark the center of the holes with a pencil. Drill a hole through the pencil marks, and slide the expansion anchors into the holes.
7.3 Secure the mounting plate by screwing the support screws into the anchors.
7.4 Insert the two hooks of the mounting plate into the slots of the product. Then turn the alarm clockwise until it snaps into place.
7.5 Test the smoke alarm by pressing the TEST/HUSH button. The red LED will flash quickly and continuous alarm will be made. That means the detector works properly. At the same time, the detector enters low sensitivity detection mode, and the red LED flashes every 10 seconds. 9 minutes later, it will automatically exit the silence mode and enter the normal standby condition. You can also end the silence mode by pressing the TEST/HUSH button again.
8. Maintenance
8.1 Test the smoke alarm every week by pressing the test button.
8.2 Clean the smoke alarm every three months.
8.3 If the product does not work properly, please check the product according to 9 Failure Analysis and Troubleshooting. If the alarm still fails to operate correctly, please do not disassemble it by yourself, but seek the advice and help of the manufacturer.
