1. Brief introduction

KD-122LH Fire Detecting Smoke Alarm is a photoelectric smoke alarm with low power consumption. It can be connected to a mobile phone APP via wireless WiFi. Internal precise analog circuit and digital circuit make the detection work more stable and reliable. 3 AA batteries allow the product to standby for more than 3 years. The product has a service life of up to 10 years.

5.2 Installation Instructions

a、Hold the mounting plate against the selected installation position on the ceiling, and mark the center of the holes with a pencil. Drill a hole through the pencil marks and use the enclosed screws and anchors to secure the mounting plate.

b、Install the AA batteries according to polarity markings.

c、Insert the hook of the mounting plate to the slot of the alarm, the positioning column should also align with the positioning groove. Rotate the alarm clockwise until it snaps into place.(See Figure 3)

Note:

1. If you can’t rotate the alarm after insect the hook into the slot, please check if the positioning column aligns with the positioning groove.

2. Check if the batteries are installed.

5.3 Recommended Locations for Smoke Alarms and Locations to Avoid

a. Recommended Locations for Smoke Alarms

— Install at least one smoke alarm in every bedroom

— If you install the smoke alarm in a passageway whose width is less than 3m, install it in the middle and install one unit every 12m.

— At least 1.5m from fluorescent lamp or neon lamp. (In case of electronic interference).

— At least 3m from the bathroom.

— At least 6m from the kitchen or stove.

— At least 30cm from the lamps.

— Locate the smoke alarm in the middle of the room. If you can’t, install it at least 1m from the wall.

— If you install the smoke alarm on sloped or peaked ceiling, the installation position shall be at least 90cm from the highest point.

b. Locations to Avoid

— In the garage. Products of combustion are present when you start your automobile.

— Avoid installation near radiators, fans, air conditioners, etc. where there is airflow.

— In dusty areas. Dust particles may cause nuisance alarm or failure to alarm. The insect screen can only obstruct part of the insects or dust.

— Areas where have metallic shield that will block RF signal.

— In an area where the temperature may fall below 0℃ or rise above 40℃.

— In humid or dusty areas like bathroom or kitchen.

6. Battery replacement

When low battery warning is made (please refer to section 7. Function), please replace the batteries immediately.

l Turn the alarm anticlockwise and remove it from the mounting plate. Take the batteries out.

l Use battery type: AA.

l Install the new batteries according to 5.2b to 5.2c.

Whenever the batteries are replaced, test the operation of the alarm by pressing the TEST button. If beeps are made, it means the product works properly.

7. Function

A、Learn to interconnect

This product has WIFI networking function.

A.1 Please download the software "Tuya Smart" from the Google Play Store or App Store for the networking APP.

A.2 The WIFI router must be 2.4G network to connect to the APP.

A.3 Press the TEST button 2 times in a row and the LED (green) will flash, prompting you to enter the network configuration mode. Network configuration must be completed within 2 minutes. If the network is not successfully configured, please press the TEST button again. If the network configuration is completed, the APP displays this alarm.

A.4 After the successful completion of the network, when the local fire detection alarm occurs, the alarm information will be uploaded to the APP via WiFi. If the customer purchases a telephone or SMS service, the information can be directly sent to the customer by calling or sending a message after the alarm is triggered.

A.5 The battery level information on the APP is updated every 24 hours. The battery level is displayed as "Medium / High / Low". If the battery level is "low", please replace the battery as soon as possible.

Access to the APP allows users to view history and settings.

B、Operating mode

— Testing

Press the TEST button and the product will enter alarm mode. It will make beeps that are louder than 86dB. The alarm indicator (red) will flash. The APP will receive a message of testing, too.

— Standby condition

In standby condition, the smoke alarm detects every 10 seconds. The alarm indicator flashes every 344 seconds to indicate that the smoke alarm is operating properly. When it senses products of combustion, the alarm sounds. And the alarm indicator (red) flashes at the same time, until the air is clear. The APP will receive a message of alarming, too.

— Silence mode (Low sensitivity)

When it’s in normal working condition, press and hold the TEST/HUSH button for 0.5 second, and the product will enter silence mode. That will last for about 9 minutes. Pressing the TEST/HUSH button again will also end the silence mode.

— Low voltage warning

When the battery voltage is too low, the product will make short beeps every 43 seconds to warn the user, until the battery voltage comply with the working voltage of the smoke alarm.

— Alarm history

When the alarm indicator (green) flashes 3 times every 43 seconds, that means alarm has been made before. Please check if there is fire risk in detecting area. This indication will end 24 hours later.

— Smoke chamber degeneration warning

The working environment and time will cause the degeneration of smoke chamber. When the product makes 3 short beeps every 43 seconds, it indicates end-of-unit-life. You should replace the smoke alarm with a new one.

8. Maintenance

8.1 Test the smoke alarm every week by pressing the test button.

8.2 Clean the smoke alarm with dry cloth. Never use water, cleaners or solvents to clean since they may damage the unit. Prevent foreign body from entering the unit.

8.3 If the smoke alarm is not working properly, don’t disassemble the unit yourself. Please seek the service of the professionals.

9. Points for Abandoned Products

9.1 The packing material is renewable, so please do your best to recycle it.

9.2 As this product has replaceable AA batteries, the batteries cannot be abandoned with normal household garbage.
