The Instruction of Household Gas Alarm KD-221A

1. Summary:

The household gas alarm is developed by adopting advanced electronic techniques and gas detecting techniques. The sensor reacts with the diffused gases in the air directly and generates linear voltage signal .When the detected gas density reaches a setting value, the alarm will send out acousto-optic alarm signal to remind users to take measures in time. 3.  Operation:      

A) Plug in the gas alarm in order to be preheated (about 2 minutes), the power indicator, fault indicator, alarm indicator flashes at the same time . The gas alarm does not detect gas at warm-up time. After being preheated, the power indicator flashes, and the fault indicator and alarm indicator are off. It shows that the alarm is in a testing state.

B) Testing state: Depress the test button, the power indicator, fault indicator, alarm indicator flash once at the same time. The power indicator is on, the fault indicator is off, the alarm indicator flashes, and an Alarm sounds 6 times in the same time. It means the Alarm works well. Install the gas alarm to the very place after testing, and plug it in the power accordingly.

C) Inspecting state: The power indicator flashes, and the fault indicator and alarm indicator are off.

D) When the alarm has tested the corresponding density of the gas, the power indicator is on, the alarm indicator flashes, and an Alarm sounds in the same time. It reminds user to take measures in time.

E) Depress the test button at regular interval to make sure the alarm is in normal working state, and keep clean of the surface.

4.  Installation

Alarm should be installed near the gas leakage. And installed multiple alarms can improve security levels. Alarm should be installed particular height which depends on the type of gas.

A) Natural gas (CH4 Methane)

The main composition of natural gas is (CH4 Methane) .It’s proportion lighter than air. Please install the alarm on the wall which mounted higher than the top of the door or window, and installed below the ceiling not more than 50 centimeters. The alarm installed in the range of 1.5 meters of gas source.

B) Compress petroleum gas [LPG] ( C₃H₈ propane) or city coal gas (C₄H₁₀ butane)

The proportion of compress petroleum gas [LPG] and city coal gas are heavier than air, so the installation position should be lower. The alarm can not mounted near the door or window, because it will influence the alarm detect the concentration of gas. Please install the alarm off the ground not more than 30 centimeters, and in the range of 1.5 meters of gas source.

Prohibit installed in the following position:

A) Prohibit installed alarm at the place where smoke, dust, ash from cooker or cooking may influence the alarm .

B) Prohibit installed alarm near the basin. Water splashed (humidity) and dust may influence the alarm.

C) Prohibit installed alarm near the air fan and well-ventilated place.

D) Prohibit build-in or cover alarm, I it may influence alarm detect leakage gas.

   E) Prohibit installed outdoors or at the place where humidity is less than 10% or greater than 85%.

5.  Points for attention:

A) Do use special fittings to its possible repair in order to avoid heavy losses.

B) Let the professional repair it.

C) Do avoid using the product in the humid, dusty, smoky environment or sun-baked place.

D) Keep household gas alarm and packing materials out of reach of the children.
